Nielsen’s Mitchell Habib hosted an exclusive presentation and networking event for members of the National Society of Black Engineers at the University of Florida. The event, held at the Florida Museum of Natural History, was an opportunity for student engineers to gain career advice from the senior executive, network with Nielsen employees and see technology demonstrations of the company’s newest products. As a passionate supporter of developing young leaders, Habib is a regular speaker at UF and other colleges across the country.
Mitchell delivered the keynote presentation at the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School's ninth annual conference for students beginning careers in marketing, advertising and retailing. He discussed innovation in marketing and the future of the industry, and facilitated exciting demos of Nielsen's newest technologies.
Nielsen once again teamed up with the University of Florida to provide opportunities for college students to learn from and network with experts across a variety of industries at the UF-Nielsen Forum. The two-day event covered topics in corporate social responsibility, building a fulfilling career, technology trends and sports fan sentiment. Mitchell Habib, executive sponsor of the forum, presented a corporate donation to the College of Journalism and Communications as part of an ongoing commitment to investing in future business leaders.
As part of Nielsen's ongoing commitment to the University of Florida, Mitchell Habib and Nielsen's Global Business Services organization partnered with the Colleges of Journalism and Communications, Engineering and Business to host more than 200 students and expert panelists for discussions on the promise of Big Data and Social Television, two major forces shaping the future for businesses, marketers and consumers.
For two years in a row, Mitchell has returned to his alma mater to
speak at the Integrated Product and Process Design Symposium,
where students present the results of their industrial engineering projects for sponsoring businesses. Most recently, he spoke about
how companies innovate, the importance of technology and building
a career with "tailwind."
In 2011, Mitchell joined the Advisory Board overseeing Northeastern University's Center for Emerging Markets. The board, a group of seasoned executives, helps disseminate best practices for succeeding
in emerging markets to managers, policy makers, students and academics.
Mitchell presented a case study using one of Nielsen's top clients, the Walt Disney Company, to illustrate the process of producing media ratings. He also discussed new measurement technologies and career strategies for young professionals.
Mitchell led Nielsen’s effort to support three local nonprofit organizations in the integration of their finance, IT and HR departments.
"Nielsen is proud to support the important work of National Underground Railroad Freedom Center," Mitchell Habib stated. "This redesigned website will help a great institution fulfill its mission by bringing inspirational stories about freedom's heroes to a wider audience."
